“I only downloaded The Legend of Zelda Orcarina of Time and Contra III. I don’t download a lot of games because it’s overpriced (all VC games should be half it’s price) and it will take longer to get to the Wii Menu. Whenever you press Home, then go to the Wii menu (such as if you were in a game) the Wii actually reboots itself. If you have more channels it has to load it, so the more you have the more seconds it does to get to the Wii Menu.”
“I currently have 29 VC games. I couldn’t even begin to remember them all at the moment. I’m one square into my 4th page so I’m getting close to filling up all my slots and I’m running out of space on the memory as well.”

Munkey102 at the GameSpot Forums is wondering what 2 games he should rent.
“This is a great system to play. Very user friendly and is very helpfull on telling you how to do things. The only game I got now is Wii Sports though. Im going to rent 2 games tomorrow but only 2. What 2 games do you guys recommend?”
“I would get re4, godfather, or nfs carbon.”
“RE4, Wii Play, Tiger Woods, Mortal Kombat Armageddon. Any two of these as they all make great use of the Wii-mote and have great multiplayer action (except RE4)”
“Well, from what I’ve been hearing, RE4 and Super Paper Mario, they are supposed to be AAA games….and congrats, and good luck with your Wii”
“Buy RE4 and Zelda. Rent Super paper mario and Rayman”

Ninja Pac-Man

This weeks Virtual Consoles releases include Ninja Gaiden, Ninja Spirit and Pac-Man. What’s everyone saying?
“Ninjas always have to go around avenging things, tsch.”
“Needs more pirates. Hmm… maybe Pac Man is secretly a pirate. The levels do kind of look like pirate ships and the ghosts could be ninjas… wakka wakka arrr!”
“Take your pirate lovin’ FSM worshipping ass outta here. We gots no tolerance for yer “arrgh” lovin’ types around here.”
“For those wondering, Ninja Spirit does, in fact, kick serious levels of ass. It kind of feels like an updated version of Kung Fu (another Irem game), only with way more ninja action. The game had a wide variety of upgradable weapons, HUGE bosses, and ninja clones that were so cool that Tecmo shamelessly lifted them for the Ninja Gaiden series. Also worth mentioning: Ninja Spirit was one of the first games to score a perfect 10 in EGM.”
“Downloaded and been playing Ninja Spirit since noon. I had never played the TurboGrafx version, only the version in the arcade, and I must tell you all to stay away UNLESS you feel some sort of retro connection to the game.�I feel like I just wasted $6, but feel free to disagree if you find this fun upon downloading it. Just trying to share that I didn’t care for it.”
“What’s wrong with Ninja Spirit? I’m being serious, not flaming. It’s been a LONG time since I last played it on the TG16 and I remember it being a lot of fun. Has it just not aged well?��For the record, I’ll be grabbing Ninja Gaiden as soon as I get home from work. God, that game was so tough, but so much fun. I know my gamer reflexes haven’t kept up over the years, I’m sure I’ll get owned at it. Oh well.”

Console Wars - Reuters

Reuters has up an article concerning the state of the console battle. After taking a look at this Kotaku asked their readers who they think will come out on top. Here’s a small look at some of the replies.
“It’ll be the console with the coolest games.”
“When the dust settles, it will be the PS3, hands down. I’m no fan of the way SONY handles their business, but you can’t deny the strength of their product. Without Japan and Europe, the 360 doesn’t stand a chance (at winning, they could still end up turning profit). The Wii will do better than the GC, but second place will have to do. In four years, the PS3 will be at a mass market pricepoint; it will have a strong library of AAA titles; and a bolstering online community. No competition. Hell, I see myself owning one by next summer.”
“Well eventually all the consoles will have a strong base, but its cleary that the 360 and the wii will compete for the number one, and the PS3 for its price mostly, the one that may change gaming history is the DS, at this sales rate it may beat the PS2 in a few years…”
“PS3 will win, at least here in the UK/Europe. “PlayStation” is just the name for “videogames” as a whole over here, the brand is stronger than Xbox or Nintendo by far. You only have to look at the PS3s presence in the top 10 games and the strong first-weekends sales to see that this is PS3 country now.”
“I vote Wii. I’m not a “fanboy” or anything, I just prefer Nintendo systems. I like the simplistic nature of some games, yet I can still find a few good, hard games if I want.”

Mushroom Kingdom Hearts - Cruel Prank
Kotaku + Wii + EGM

April Fools is a horrible and cruel creation. Case in point, Kotaku is reporting that the recently reviled Mushroom Kingdom Hearts is nothing more than an evil prank created by the folks over at EGM. EGM claimed the game would contain 41 Nintendo characters which when broken down becomes 4/1…April 1st.
Those vile fiends at EGM shall pay for their trickery.

John Dvorak Loves the Wii

“So my experience with this toy tells me that a fundamental change has taken place in game play—and it’s all down to the controller. People were all pumped up about it before it came out, and now I can see why. It changes all the rules and will dominate the future of gaming. You watch.”

On the GameSpot forums they’re having a Wii peep rally where the original posters states “The Nintendo Wii Is probably one of the best consoles so far!“.
